Labelling people is along the same lines as crime. When you think about what a doctor does - a lot of these activities are a tremendous violation but because it"s their job is okay. Deviance: occurs when someone departs from a norm and evokes a negative reaction from others. Crimes: is a deviance that breaks the law.
