What some people consider normal, others consider deviant and vice versa. No act is deviant in and of itself. From a sociological point of view, everyone is a deviant in one social context or another i. e. homosexuality is a crime in some places. Labelling people is along the same lines as crime. When you think about what a doctor does - a lot of these activities are a tremendous violation but because it"s their job is okay. Deviance: occurs when someone departs from a norm and evokes a negative reaction from others. Crimes: is a deviance that breaks the law.
