People may wok in the same occupation but in di erent organizations, workplaces. Can distinguish between: vertical segregation: occupational inequality associated with income inequality, horizontal segregation: di erent groups of workers work in di erent (but potentially equal) jobs, trends may diverge: vertical segregation is decreasing; horizontal segregation is increasing. (in reality, horizontal can be somewhat vertical).
