(cid:1) (cid:1) 2000: we spend money we haven"t earned to buy things we don"t need to impress people we don"t like. (cid:1) (cid:1) Consumerism is the preoccupation with the acquisition of goods to satisfy needs through material things. the more you acquire the happier you will be. Material goods will be more effective in contributing toward happiness reached a point where we have a oaten that is out of control. Advertising is so out of control and so ubiquitous contributing to out of control shopping habits. We eventually will run out of natural resources that we need due to unsustainable consumption patterns. Have become such a throw away society. Multinational corporations trying to persuade the population to buy more.
