Assessing the results of experiment: data analysis. Independent & dependent variables: iv is manipulated, dv is observed for change. Pre-test-post-test: comparing variation in dv before & after treatment. Experimental & control groups: experimental group receives treatment & is compared to control group (no treatment. Neither researchers or subjects know who is experimental group. It is done to reduce experimental bias: when you think you"ve done an experiment, the treatment wasn"t what caused the outcome-it was another variable.
