The first theme i saw among the panel of guest speakers was their story telling of their journey with studying religion and culture and how it led them all to different paths. They all also told us how they did not start in religion and culture but rather at least three out of the four started in global studies. For instance, elysia guzik started her studies in global studies and. I thought this was interesting as i also started my university path in a different area of study, biology, which is a very opposite to what i study now. I also liked that many of them told us how they found religion and culture in their later years of schooling. I also did not fall in love with the study of religion until my third year of university.
