Things are left out to make a certain narrative. In both the perspectives of the criminal + the police. Ethnographers want to see + experience the crime for themselves rather than being satisfied by other account of the situation. It involves investigation of social processes in situ, rather than survey questionnaire and other measures of altitudes and perspective/personality. It involves minimal intervention by the researcher unobtrusive observation. The research is inductive; it involves the construction of models of processes under study rather than testing predefined hypothesis. Observation + conservation rather than a secluded interview (naturalistic) Contextual meaning of symbols describing a naturalistic way of the world is very difficult. Very difficult to make the natural world understandable to people who do not know that world because of the contextual meaning to everything.
