The word of god preserved verbatim as delivered though prophet muhammed. Some mustlims believe that it is uncreated and eternal (no beginning or end) Other believe that it is created by god in time (has a beginning) Revealed in ramadan during the night of power, on jabal al nur (mountain of light), cave of hira. First verse: surah 96 - the emriyol. Last verse: surah 5 ayat 3 - surah al maida. Angel takes a form of a man and transmits the message to him. Direct transmission of the divine words to muhammed. Taught muhhamed how to do salat and wudu. Jibrail was his guide of the night journey as well. Umm al kitab (templates from which all scriptures were sent down) The heavenly original which is with god, and from which all scriptures are sent down. The clear verses (mukham) within the quran which outline the essential duties of the muslims.
