132 views4 pages

Document Summary

Companies create diverse teams to take on most complex challenges. Team leaders must focus on tasks at earlier stages rather than on interpersonal relationships; but need to switch to relationship building when time is right. Teams now consist of men and women of many nationalities and wide range of ages, representing multiple functions from many different businesses. Such diverse teams bring to bear the range of experiences and attitudes that will ensure that final product/service will be market sensitive and innovative. How diverse teams fail and how some succeed. Some may not be able to deliver on time and others fall short of productivity. Some executives may be trained to manage simple teams. Failure to collaboration: trust and goodwill among members cannot be formed. Defining factor is the behaviour of the team leader and structure of leadership role. Faultlines can remain formant and invisible for some time.
