400 years ago, gb was experimenting with absolute monarchy: the king is in control and manages the state. He has the right of life and death and to dispossess its people. Absolute monarchy: the notion that the political space is animated by the monarch. If there are subjects, it is because the king wills it. The king gives you your title as a subject, or exile you and consider you a traitor. The basic unit of analysis isn"t the subject or the place, it is the monarch. The monarch owns land that becomes his kingdom, and subjects that become his people. He manages the state as if it was an extension of itself. The actor creates the space and the politics. Anti-democratic (democracy says that the people create the political space). If you serve and obey, then the kingdom will be in good order obedience and loyalty are key and lead to stability and progress.
