It is in the interest of making you prefer something over something else. Pairing something pleasurable to something that is neutral. We are conditioned as human beings, but animals also showes classical conditioning. Once there was an empty bowl placed in front of a dog and he started salivating, so he is showing a response that would not have been there before the experiment started. Unconditioned stimulus (us) - the unlearned, automatic full proof stimulus.
