There will be overlapping material in the lecture and textbook, and stuff in lecture that will not be in the textbook. One item from the film on the test: if you paid attention to the film then you will get that item. The best way is to read it over and over - the more you interface with the text, the better you will do, since you will be better able to recognize the right answer. There will be questions on defence mechanisms, the psychosexual stages, obvious questions. Need to know who certain psychologists are: questions are fairly straightforward. Comparisons will be made between different theorists. 5-6 years of life, the libido shifts from the anal region to the genital zone. You see a rather dramatic change in a child"s behavior at this age: interested in their own genitals, the genitals of others, the birthing process, masturbation activities.
