You need to put the mouse on a flat surface with the buttons facing the computer in order to use it correctly. You hold the mouse by resting your entire hand on top of it and putting your index finger on the left mouse button. If you"re like me, this means your middle finger controls the right mouse button. When you move the mouse, it moves a cursor on your screen.
