Both the spinal cord and brain are protected in similar ways and are made of the same material. Both spinal cord and brain neurons have very limited capacity to regenerate in humans. Wear safety gear- wearing a bike helmet while cycling can lower the risk of tbi by. Avoid head-first moves, such as spearing in football in shallow water. Tough sell, players want to stay on the field, not be told they have a concussion. A woodpecker pecks about 12k times/day, and each blow is like going 15mph into a wall face first.
