A 12.99g sample of copper that is at 7.9Celsiusis added to 1.00g of hot water is initially at 93.2Celsius.

a. From the first law of thermodynamics, what isthe equation relating the sum of the heats of the twocomponents?
b. Algebraically substitute in the symbols for thespecific heat capacities for the copper and water (Cs,Cu, andCs,H2O), the symbols for masses (mCu and mH2O), and the symbols forthe temperature change (Tf, Ti, Cu, and Ti,H2O).
c. Solve the algebraic problem in (b) for Tf, thefinal temperature of water.
d. Substitute in the values to determine the finaltemperature of the metal. Hint: its the same for both water andcopper.
