A: adaptation (economy: secure and distribute sufficient resources or adapt to changes. G: goal attainment (politics: must establish clear goals. Examples: establishing budgets, strategizing, planning leaders must do these things. I: integration (police: regulation and coordination of actors and systems. Someone that is responsible for regulation of the laws/rules that have been set. They make sure we follow it so that they can keep order within the system. Criminal justice system, legal institutions, police, family (parents), L: latency religion: tension maintenance and pattern maintenance, sufficient motivation for actors, social institutions are key (family, peers, education, most important. They make sure we accept norms and values and that we conform to them. Helps us accept social systems and help up become integrated into the system. Micro: individually motivate someone to accept a norm.
