Internal sources of pressure (people) issues: lower productivity, internal conflict, strikes, absenteeism and turnover. Involuntary change is like being fired, voluntary change is like kicking yourself in the butt. Organizations can change: goals and strategies new product, new strategy, technology left or right. Job design core job characteristics: structure 6 elements of structure, processes how work is done, culture how people behave and the social norms, people.
