Glandular tissue originates from the epithelium during development. Stimulation by a trophin factor on nearby epithelial lining will cause the epithelium to penetrate into the ct below. Part of the epithelium pushed down but does not disconnect from the epithelial lining. This causes a projection of epithelium into the ct, which forms exocrine glands: exocrine glands secrete into the lumen of the organ, they contains a duct portion and a secretory portion, like the sweat gland. Endocrine glands secrete their contents into the bloodstream, not into the lumen of the organ. This happens when the invagination of epithelium completely disconnects from the surface: the disconnection forms a vesicle inside the ct which het organized into pores and associate with fenestrated capillaries, into which endocrine glands secrete their contents. They can be cords of cells, which have a more random shape. They can also be follicular, which have a circular shape.
