Scope of the project can get out of hand too large, not large enough, too much change. No synergy = less profitability = less performance. Over optimism: pride and emotion, over confidence. High reliance on inexperienced consultants: relying on too many vendors. Myopic thinking: from leaders and consultants (andersen) More focused on maintaining organizational image: bias and myopic thinking. Morale problems: not all management had the same goals, disconnection between management and staff and between the managers themselves. Inexperienced staff lack of knowledge transfer. Lack of communication between levels, contractors and leadership. Drifted away from the ksf"s and what they are able to do, focusing more on what they want to be doing. Loss of employee morale created behavioural problems adding to the downward spiraling of the already failing project: employee commitment is key.
