Background and context

Microtubules are very essential in forming the cytoskeleton of a cell. Tubulin is the basic unit of microtubules and polymerization of several tubulins gives rise to microtubules. The integrity of microtubules depends on the binding capability of tubulin proteins. There are certain drugs that can disrupt the polymerization of tubulin proteins in the microtubules.
