Background and context
In DNA, the 2 strands are complementary to each other. In complementary base-pairing, the companion bases are specific always. Paring occurs between adenine- thymine, and guanine-cytosine. A-T pairing occurs through 2hydrogen bonds, and G-C pairing occurs through 3 hydrogen bonds.
