What criteria will you use to pick unique colonies from your plate? To pick unique colonies from the plate, we will look for colonies that have distinct morphological characteristics such as size,shape,color, and texture.

Assuming you cannot test ALL of your bacterial isolates for antibiotic production, how will you prioritize the isolates you choose to study in order to increase the likelihood of obtaining an antibiotic producer? In order to increase the likelihood of obtaining an antibiotic producer, we will prioritize the isolates based on their proximity to antibiotic producing organisms of inhibition on the plate. We will also consider isolates that show promising characteristics such as rapid growth or unique colony morphology.
