Pre-requisites: biol200 and biol201 (or bioc212 = anat212, phgy 209 and 210 (210 can be a co-requisite or phgy 201 and 202. Midterm will have 50 questions and worth 30% of the grade. Final exam will have 100 questions and worth 50% of the grade. Both exams contain mostly multiple-choice questions with a limited short answer questions. There will also be a poster presentation 20% Textbook: casarett and doull"s essentials of toxicology: eds: klaassen and watkins; 2 second. Today"s lecture: chapter 1 and 2 in the textbook. Course coordinator: bernard robaire, mcintyre medical building, room 104x3630. February 14th: midterm from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm at mcintyre 522. There is, for example, an explosion that occurs somewhere (such asan oil crisis) and then people get exposed, and we could study the effect on the population after the exposure and the effects on their health. There arein vitro methods and minimization of animal use.
