We can look at what male researchers have traditionally thought and what female researchers have. Malestream sociology: when we look at the conway text, it largely encompasses the male stream sociology. Femalestream sociology: there is also a female interpretation of the reality as well. We begin to see how children make observations and are extremely wise in their tender years. It is the coming together of a man and a women. Usually but not always legally married to express their mutual love and commitment. If the relationship lasts, children are often produced and then the family is made of mother, father, and children living together under one roof, developing a long term economic, social, and emotional unit. Sometimes, as the years advanced, the family expands to include aging grandparents. There is a sense of partnership but that is the relationship of love and commitment. A relationship of some permanence between/amongst persons with or without children.
