Culture includes the knowledge, languages, values, etc. that are passed down from person to person and from one generation to the next: help to construct a way of life. It is learned and shared from person to person. Culture shock: personal disorientation that comes from encountering an unfamiliar way of life. No cultural trait is natural" to humanity: what is natural to our species is the capacity to create and learn cultural traits. Without culture, humanity would not exist: i. e. There is no such thing as an uncultured group . All cultures are built on 5 major components: symbols, language, values, norms, material objects. We transform elements of the world into symbols. Symbols: anything that carries a meaning that can be recognized by other people (ex. words, numbers, pictures, colours, gestures, facial expressions, etc. )
