There are two types of social solidarity. Classifies the different types of law in relation to the sanctions attached to their transgression. Restitutive law: organic solidarity, ex civil restores order and the previous state of affairs. External factors that affect the individual: ex. Death in the family, market crashing, terrorist attack. Focused his studies on try to figure out what makes people commit suicide and what factors in their lives had given the final push. Altuistic suicide: degree of social integration is too high, this type of person is greatly involved in a group, all they care about are the groups norms and goals and completely neglect their own needs and goals, ex. Fatalistic suicide: when their lives are kept under tight regulation, often live their lives under extreme rules and high expectations, these type of people are left feeling like they"ve lost their sense of self.
