It stores and concentrates bile from the liver before secreting it into the small intestine: stomach- esophagus leads to the stomach, pyloric sphincter- controls the passage of food into the small intestine. Jejunum- highly coiled and is major site of absorption of nutrients and water. Ilium- allows for further digestion and absorption of the digested materials: pancreas- soft, cream colored organ located between the stomach and the duodenum.
