Its aim is to give groups the opion to maintain their nomos (provisional codes (habits or customs) of social and poliical behavior, socially constructed and culturally speciic). Becomes problemaic when accommodaions reinforce power hierarchies within the group that disadvantage some members. Mulicultural ciizenship model: the legal status of membership in a poliical community, signifying a certain equality with regard to the rights and duies of the membership in the community. Emphasis on the links among culture, idenity and group membership stands at the core of the quest for a new mulicultural understanding of ciizenship. Weak muliculturalism: acknowledges tension between group accommodaions and individual rights, gives groups accommodaions but protects individual rights, supplements human rights with speciic minority rights.
