Univac , first machine accepted by the united states census bureau to process census data. Modern computers execute instructions that manipulate bit patterns. They are able to crunch numbers at great speed and precision. We then must find good ways to represent structure and organize all kind of data in numerical forms. For a program, the instructions consist of a certain procedure or algorithm. Data made available to a program become its input and data produced by a program become its output. A program can be regarded as a well defined transformation of input data to output data. Images are rendered by illuminating individual pixels ( picture elements) on the screen. The display screen has a rectangular array of pixels. Each row contains the same number of pixels. The denser the pixel array, the higher the resolution. Typical widescreen 16:9 ratio, provides 1920 x 1080 of pixels. Each individual pixel is specified by its color.
