On there way back to athens, s and glaucon are met by polemarchus who refuses to let them keep going on their journey, he wants them to stay to watch the torch race: they decide to stay. C on old age: old age is not the cause for unhappiness later on in life the true cause being the way that people live. S: does wealth help in old age: c agrees but only to a minimum. S is questioning e who is going to the courts to report his father of committing murder because he is very religious and believe it is the right thing to do: this invokes the euthyphro problem.
