Chapter 11: non-court business consumer redress (or adr) Created in 1994 - it covers both new vehicles and used vehicles from the current and four previous model years. Camvap is a free (for consumers) arbitration service, paid for by participating automobile manufacturers. It helps consumers and manufacturers resolve disputes about alleged manufacturing defects in the vehicle or implementation of the new vehicle warranty. Campvap arbitrations are governed by provincial and territorial arbitration legislation that sets out the rules of arbitration and the finality of the arbitrator"s decision, along any awards may be subject to judicial review. Camvap does not lay out substantive standards that a manufacturer must follow when making the vehicle. Rules simply lay out a procedure for hearing disputes. Consumer does not commit to camvap at time of purchase. A consumer wishing to bring a complaint to camvap arbitration must first try to resolve the dispute with the manufacturer,
