Study: when researchers address a problem or answer a question through a systematic investigation. Collaborative study: when several investigators are working together. No heading called method or methodology (the section that describes what a researcher did) and no heading called findings or results (the section that describes what a researcher found), then it is probably not an actual study. Quantitative study the people being studied are called the study participants. Participants: active roles, called informants, key informants or study participants. Settings: likely to engage in eldworkin natural settings because they are interested in the contexts of people"s lives and experiences. Setting: naturalistic settings in the eld (e. g. , in people"s homes); others are performed in highly controlled laboratory settings. Researchers sometimes engage in multisite studies because the use of multiple sites offers a larger or more diverse group of participants.
