Consideration & initiating structure: consideration: extent to which a leader is approachable & shows personal concern and respect for employees. Initiating structure: degree to which a leader concentrates on group goal attainment: clearly defines & organizes their role and the role of others, stresses procedures, schedules & assigns employees. Leader reward behaviour: provides employees with compliments, tangible benefits & deserved special treatments. Leader punishment behaviour: provides employees with reprimands or unfavourable task assignments & active withholding of rewards: reward & punishment behaviour is found to be very effective, they lead to more positive perception of justice & lower role ambiguity. Situational theories of leadership: the effectiveness of a leadership style depends on the setting.
