Document Summary

The argument from evil the argument that attempts to prove that the existence of evil is evidence against the hypothesis that god exists. (1)if god were to exist, then that being would be all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good (pkg) (2)if an all- pkg being existed, then there would be no evil. There are evils that are brought into existence by human actions there are evils that exist because of natural events that aren"t under human control. Rejecting the first premise would be an option since the sentence is not true by definition. E. g. a bachelor is an unmarried man is true by definition. God is all- pkg might not be true by nature. Theodicy and defence it"s ok to reject premise 2 since god might not want everything perfect and if he really did exist he would allow the evil to come in for our own good. Soul-binding evils are the ones that make us better people.
