A procedure inducing a heightened state of suggestibility it"s not a trance. it"s more likely a suggestion :) they are most effective if they fall into one of the three categories: Related to specific actions that could be performed, such as adopting a specific position. Actions that are not to be performed the subject appears to lose the ability to perform an action. A subject remembering or forgetting specific information. Or experiencing altered perceptions such as reduced pain. Hypnosis cannot make someone to do things against their will sensations. Hypnosis is based on the interaction between automatic(unconscious) thoughts and behaviours and a supervisory system (executive processing) Explain hypothesis as a unique state in which consciousness is divided into two parts: an observer and a hidden observer. During hypnosis, our executive process would have less input and instead the suggestions from the hypnotist would act as an executive, guiding behaviour that feel automatic.
