Frustration-aggression hypothesis: animals aggress when and only when their goals are frustrated (i. e for food) Scientists argue that real cause of aggressions is negative effect: inability to reach goal, have something happen to them that they don"t like (= electric shock, heat, bad odour etc. ) Men more aggressive than women because of high levels of testosterone (especially in young men) Testosterone: promotes aggression, makes people concerned with their status, power, and confidence, purposeful walk, high chin posture, slow to detect angry faces result of high self-esteem.
