We are influenced by the people around us. Mimicry: taking on for ourselves the behaviours, emotional displays, and facial expressions of others. Naturally, as social creatures, we pay attention to our surroundings, and go with the flow . A lot of what we do is a conscious effort, but at the same time, we do many things unconsciously. ~implicit actions of attention, perception, emotions, and behaviours. Our unconscious level of our awareness is constantly shaped and patterned by other people.
