Stress subjective feeling produced by events that are uncontrollable or threatening; it"s a response to perceived demands in a situation so it"s not the situation itself. Issues unable to identify stable coping responses that were consistently mal/adaptive. Stress feeling of being overwhelmed by events that you cannot seem to control. When faced with stressor, you usually have fight-or-flight response. Major life events events that require people to make major adjustments in their lives. Some positive events are also stressful, e. g. getting married or starting university. People with highest stress points on scale were most likely to have a serious illness that year. Elevated stress was associated with elevated risk for many diseases they eventually deplete bodily resources and become vulnerable to disease. Daily hassles major sources of stress in most people"s lives; can be chronic and repetitive, e. g. always having a lot to do.
