In bm going to jail is does not coincide with their term for punishment. Punishment effects our learning throughout life consequences of touching a hot stove makes us learn to not touch that shit. Stimuli that activate pain receptors (called nociceptors) nerve endings that detect pressure and when activated are experience as pain. Unconditioned punishers stimuli that are punishing without prior learning bad smells hurt my nose.
