Document Summary

Module 3. 2- how the nervous system works: cells and neurotransmiters. Neurons: responsible for sending and receiving messages throughout the body: receive and transmit messages. Receive input from one group of neurons and to transmit that informaion to other neurons leading so some form of behaviour. Sensory neurons: receive informaion from bodily senses and bring it toward brain. Motor neurons: carry messages away from the brain and spinal cord and towards muscles in order to control their lexion and extension. Specialized cells of the nervous system that are involved in mouning immune responses in the brain, removing waste, and synchronizing the acivity of the billions of neurons that consitute the nervous system. Muliple sclerosis is a disease in which the immune system does not recognize myelin and atacks it thus destroying the nervous system. The neuron"s electrical system: resing and acion potenials. Neural acivity is based on changes in the concentraions of charged atoms called ions.
