Figure-ground: objects in environment stand out in background. Proximity: treat 2 or more objects that are close to each other as a group. Similarity: can be experienced by viewing people in uniform. Continuity: lines and other objects tend to be continuous rather than abruptly changing direction. Closure: tendency to fill gaps to complete an object. Attention and perception: divided attention is paying attention to more than 1 task, selective attention is only focusing on 1 task and may lead to intentional blindness.
