Social solidarity: people that often feel connected through similar works or education is often based on the kinship ties of familial networks. Increase in social solidarity= more anchored individuals in the world (less likely to die of suicide) Groups with higher social solidarity will have lower suicidal rates. Altruistic suicide: norms are tightly govern so that individual actions are in the group"s interest. Egoistic suicide: lack of intergration of individual into sicety. Anomic suicide: norms governing behaviour is vaguely defined. Canada has had an increase in suicide rates since 60s; most predominantly in the age groups of 15-24 as well as 40-59; this may be associated with: Increase of bullying students who come out of the closet .
