Document Summary

Fmri and diffusion tensor imaging dti allow researchers to take pics of brains and compare their anatomy and activity. Some aspects of brain development reflected in changes in brain structure, others in brain function. Dti allows to see ways in which various regions of brain are connected and compare patterns of interconnections among people at different ages. Allows us to understand how communication patterns linking diff regions of brain change with development. Eeg measures electrical activity at different locations on the scalp and can examine changes in electrical activity (event related potentials erp) in response to different stimuli or events. Differences very small and unlikely to explain differences in the way both sexes behave or think. Male brains about 10% larger (after accounting for fact that male bodies are bigger) however there is no relation between sheer brain size and intellectual functioning. Some parts of brain slightly larger among both sexes.
