Interactions in teams occur within specific task-related purpose: types of teams. Meet for few hours, discuss improving quality, efficiency, and work environment. Take on responsibilities of their managers: perform highly interdependent jobs, planning, scheduling, assigning tasks, operating decisions, actions on problems, etc. Research proves not as efficient: disputes cause power struggle issues. But conflict is beneficial if people feel psychologically safe. Employees from same hierarchical level, but from different work areas, come together to accomplish a task. Allows exchanging of information, develop new ideas, coordinate complex projects: however, difficult to manage, takes time to build trust and teamwork.
