*as you go from top to bottom, the ulcers get worse. In the 4th one, you have a spurter, where the bleed is exposed and current. *argon gas will cause some thermal injury & you will ablate that exposed vessel or ulcer base. *so dual therapy is better than monotherapy = take away from this slide. Can depend on the position of the ulcer, depends which methods/types of therapy you use. Failure to control pud bleeding endoscopically: angiography with embolization, *so this would have been in a patient that despite endoscopy they couldn"t control bleeding and had to be sent away to try and control the bleeding, surgery. Hypotensive les: *hypotensive les have decreased clearance of acid from esophagus. Or theres a disease the same as scleroderma that"s very similar, but the esophasus is ______, achalasia. *odynophagia = when it hurts when you swallow.
