Document Summary

The working age population and others who are too young to work or who live in institutions and are unable to work. The working age population is the number of people aged 15 years and over. The working age is also divided into two groups: Those in the labour force and those not in the labour force. The labour force is the sum of the employed and the unemployed. To be counted as employed in the labour force, a person must have either a full time job or a part time job. People in the working age population who are neither employed nor unemployed are classified as not in the labour force. Statistics candy calculates four market indicators of the state of the labour market. They are: the unemployment rate, the involuntary part-time rate, the labour force participation rate, the employment-to-population ratio. The unemployment rate is the percentage of the people in the labour force who are unemployed.
