I hold the view on humanity that all people do have a primitive, evil part of them. One example why this would be the true is that in the lord of the flies the boys were all originally good boys, because society had conditioned them that way. When all the rules and regulations are suddenly out the door, the evil part of man can fully reveal itself. In catcher in the rye holden is also a boy who is good natured, but once he is exposed to an adult society and way of living, his evil parts show too from being exposed from the evil. People mostly tend to behave well, but this is because society has disciplined them. It does not matter whether society can corrupt or discipline, what matters is whether the person has evil inside them, and everybody has at least the tiniest inkling of an animalistic instinct which causes them to do evil.
