World history is an important field within the discipline of history. World history is macro (over great lengths of time) The world history association (wha) also says that world history is different from global history. Global history is the history of globalization since 1492 . University of oxford says global history is defined as the global movement of people, goods and ideas and the consequences that flow from them (basically global and world history are the same thing) To wha global history is not macro (since it starts in 1492) Term history can mean the past and interpretation of past. Is a discipline, meaning that history is the study of the past. A central premise of modern historical theory and methodology is chronological, or linear time. Central to historical practice is the historical perspective, which means seeing things from the perspective of the past. Goal to understand past on its own terms (historian approach, historical practice)
