Part a is worth 30% (no more than one page) Questions based on the readings, and may even be questions from those in conference book. Part b is 70%, with 2-3 questions and you choose one, broad questions you cannot answer with lots of details. Eg the controversy over the naval bill wasn"t about the mechanics of building a. Approach the question from the broader theme and apply other parts of history. Think big and place the questions in proper context; not details but personal perspectives. Try to remember a few titles of people who weighed in. Studied law at mcgill and went on to an illustrious career in politics. Generally, there have been the two major parties, liberal and conservative. Liberals are against some things but don"t change very many things.
