Operaions management: all of the aciviies involved in producing goods and services and distribuing them to customers. Eiciency: producing output or achieving a goal at the lowest cost. Efeciveness: compleing tasks and producing products that create the greatest value. Goods: tangible products that you can see and touch, both durable and non-durable. Services; intangible products, such as computer repair and interior design. Value chain: the network of relaionships that channels the low of inputs, informaion, and inancial resources. Low-wage labour is a fey reason irms focus overseas. Each interacion is unique and challenging to manage. Immediate predecessors: aciviies that must be completed before other aciviies begin. Criical path: consists of the sequence of aciviies that takes the longest to complete. Criical path method (cpm) for university arena project. Automaion: replacing human operaions and control of machinery and equipment with some form of programmed control. Robot: a programmable machine that is capable of manipulaing materials in order to perform tasks.
