The organized means that each society develops to meet its basic needs. Examples: family, religion, law, politics, economics, education, science, medicine, the military. The social significance of social institutions they set limits and provide guidelines for our behavior. Social institutions exist because they perform vital functions for society. Producing and distributing goods and services - economics. Providing a sense of purpose - church. Organizations- collectives characterized by structure that encourages patterns in individual action.
